In this post I will be writing about a guide I recently purchased for SWTOR. Just a short review given that this is a fan post and giving direction is what I’m all about.

 So the guide I bought was an unofficial Killer Guides Star Wars The Old Republic Commando guide. The site also sells the swtor trooper guide which includes 2 advanced class guides in it, but as I was going to focus on being a hardcore Commando and for trial purposes, I bought this swtor advanced class guide.

The guide is a download e-book format guide which gives regular updates when new patches or updates come out. This was great and much better than purchasing a physical book guide with no updates. But as you all already know, you buy a guide for the precious expert info that will show you roads that no other trooper or class has walked down. Veteran strategies are what work.

This guide consisted of approximately 100 pages with content tables, information tables, walkthroughs and much more. The swtor commando guide showed in details all the different parts to the game. From walkthroughs to effective strategies to combat the different species of enemies. The bonus for me was the swtor crew skills which were very details and revealing in a sense. One thing I like about specific class guides better than the general strategy guides are that they are very specific and written by an author who has played through the class.

The best part I found about the guide was the weapons info. For me damage and finding the perfect item is everything. So this guide was very much helpful in this area listing out all the possible weapons I could handle to create mass destruction.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is one of the most anticipated MMORPGs ever and is currently undergoing beta testing. Fans have known about the available classes for a while now, and gamers are already anticipating and making plans for what characters they will level first. Troopers are one of the classes available for Republic players, and are the classic high-armored soldiers displayed in every Star Wars movie. They’re the most elite fighters in the galaxy. One of the possible Trooper advance classes is called the Commando, the other is the SWTOR Vanguard. Commandos specialize in destruction from afar using massive assault cannons and also are able to provide their team with first aid. This pre-release SWTOR Commando guide will help you learn how to approach your Commando Trooper progression path.

The first thing any aspiring Commando should know is that they should be comfortable with ranged combat. Troopers wear heavy armor, so they will be able to take a few hits, but for the most part, Commandos should refrain from taking any heavy damage. They should instead focus on damaging any opponents or healing their teammates if needed. For the purpose of this SWTOR Commando guide, two roles will be discussed: DPS (damage per second) and healing.

Commandos that choose to utilize their massive cannon blasters and grenades to shoot their enemies into oblivion will be seen as extremely powerful. The basics of Trooper combat are fairly simple. Commandos will have to keep track of their energy cells, which is the power they use for special abilities, also known as Techs. They regain energy cells by using other abilities or by letting time pass. One ability we know about is called Chain Reaction, which allows critical hits to restore energy cells. DPS Commandos also have many crowd control and area-of-effect abilities. They can toss out Sticky Grenades, which deal damage to not only the selected target, but everything around it as well. A healing Commando will be able to stay safely behind cover during a hectic fight and help their teammates by throwing Trauma Probes, which are heals-over-time, and Kolto Bombs, which are burst heals. For RPG gamers who are tired of seeing the same old healer in a cloth dress, now’s your chance to see something new. A Commando can be a powerful, heavily-armored soldier who also happens to have some healing abilities!
